Browser Based RPG - 2008/10/21 11:18
Review: Estiah is a free, browser based MMORPG. The game pits adventures against evil monsters, dungeons and even has a decent Player vs Player combat system. The world has a rich storyline and the work put into the world map is rather astonishing. When you first log in you are presented with a character screen. Your eyes are immediately drawn to a real time clock that dictates when you have rested enough to travel or work at your job (yes, you can apply for a job!). This clock also shows when you get more action points. Action points are used for splunking in dungeons and battling other players. You can also use them to go frolicking in the fields for flowers, wandering in the forest for wood, or mining in a scary cave. If resource gathering isn't your thing, you're welcome to try your hand in the Arena and face fearsome monsters! You start in a city called Inachis and are offered a bunch of choices. You can apply for a new job, battle in the Arena, go in search of valuable resources, or try your luck in your very first dungeon; the Inachis Sewers! Battle is fought in a turn based manner with charms (often called cards by the veteran players) that are selected from your Gear page. You are allowed a certain amount of charms to be used in battle and they are chosen at random during each round. Don't think there's no strategy though! There's a very subtle system in picking the right charms and the right amount of offensive or defensive. Too few of either will leave you stuck in the middle of a fight! Join now and explore this incredibly rich, new world!
