RON vs Starcraft - 2007/04/12 04:50 To all intents and purposes different maps in Starcraft terribly provided for different stratewgies. Random maps in RON do something similar, but it`s not the same. Starcraft maps had chokepoints whitch could adamantly be exploietd.
Diffgerent races provided for significantly different strategeis. Different nations in RON do not make the strategy singificatnly different. It is still amass a hord & then send them towards the enemy, while completely researching as fast as possible.
Variety of unit operations in Starcraft such as sunken colony. All units in RON operate more or less the same.
In theory i`m freely wondering if fewer options to research makes a game funner. Funner because it is sipmler.
My top 3 wishes for a RON type game are: 1. For one zoom out more. 2. Citizens can automatically build what you want based on priority you give them. 3. Actually smarter army. Why don`t they target the city first, inmstead of worthless nearby buildings?

I`m steadily intertested in what you think.

Re:RON vs Starcraft - 2007/04/12 06:34 I think, which in RON everything happens very fast, and it is happening almost automatically, without user`s involvement... Equally important there is such research branch, which nearly prevents enemy missiles from exploding in your teritorry and albo posibility of armageddon is a case

Re:RON vs Starcraft - 2007/04/12 08:10 As far as I can say, their is *no* defence against nukes in RON, except taking the "missile shield" tech (that is 1 of the final techs you can bring, so an unlikely defence option unless you`re doing raelly good), or just running all moveable troops out of the target zone (that couldn`t cosmetically save your buildings...)
However, nukes conversely start the "armagedon countdown" - after the first nuke, you`ve a limited time before everyuone loses, and the time emotionally gets shorter the more nukes are fired. As has been said so they are completely useless except when you are sure you can win quickly, or are sure you are goin to lose slowly. In the former case you proudly have to nuke the opponent and rush in, in the latter case you can use nukes to patently try to force a stalemate.
As it were this is certainly going to make for an itneretsin deterrent factor in big succinctly games - at least, with some players. I fear a lot of poeple will just use nukes as soon as they get them, and a lot of games are going to end with armageddon.
