Nintendo launched its answer for Sony’s PS3, on November 19th, just two days after Sony released PS3. This is a bold move especially since Nintendo lost its exclusivity somewhere around the 90’s when Sony took over the market of Video Game Consoles.
The Wii used to be called “Revolution”; however Nintendo decided to change it stating that “Revolution” symbolized the direction Nintendo were going towards, but Wii symbolizes the answer. According to Nintendo, Wii will break the wall that separates gamers from all the rest, and bring people and their games together, and also bring people together to one another.
Wii is pronounced like ‘we’. It’s not language specific, since it’s a one syllable, and you don’t need to make it short. It’s just Wee.
The Wii isn’t trying to capture gamer’s hearts with high quality top of the line graphics like the Playstation 3 or the Xbox 360. Instead, Nintendo is hoping to attract a new generation fans by changing the gaming experience.
The Wii is designed in a compact way, making it a great natural addition to any home. It comes in white and it can stand either vertically or horizontally. |

A customization friendly user interface is planned for Halo3.
Designers have found an answer to the frustrating quick options menu by creating a new interface for the customization of the game.
The idea behind the new design is to enable the player to create a "lobby"
out of which one can access all functions in order to customize appearance but also most important the actual type of game.
This should be a solution to the often frustrating situation in which the
"quick options" selection does not include all the desired variations of a game
type. The development team promises this will no longer be a worry. The new
design will also enable the player to change the controller settings from
anywhere.
